The Advanced Training for Ships Subject to the IGF Code is an advanced course for officers and crew directly responsible for operating fuel systems on ships powered by gas or other low-flashpoint fuels.

Training goal
To provide the advanced knowledge and skills required for the safe operation of ships using fuels covered by the IGF Code.
Requirements
- Completion of basic training for IGF ships with a valid certificate
- At least one month of sea service on an IGF ship, with 3 bunkering operations certified by the master or chief engineer
- Alternatively: holding gas tanker certificates (basic and advanced) and 3 months of service with bunkering or cargo operations on gas tankers
- 3 months of sea service within the last 5 years on IGF ships, gas tankers or ships using low-flashpoint fuels is required
Certificate
Certificate issued by the Maritime Office, valid for 5 years. Renewed at the Maritime Office after documenting 3 months of sea service on ships subject to the IGF Code within the last 5 years.
